William Richard (Dick) Laidlaw, 93, of Greensboro, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Saturday at the Moses Cone Medical Center after a brief illness. In 1953, Dick returned to the UC Berkeley where he completed a masters degree in Education. He then moved to Oxnard, California, where he taught civics and government to high school seniors and economics at Ventura College. Willard "Bill" Appenzeller died. He was 91. He graduated from William and Mary College and immediately enlisted in the Navy and served as an officer in the South Pacific. Bill earned a Master's Degree in Education from USC. He moved to Oxnard where he began his teaching career and raised eight children. Bill is survived by his wife, 4 sons, 4 daughters,16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren RIP - Coach MorganJuly 12, 2010
John (Jack) Morgan Died after a long illness. He was 75. Survived by his wife, Marcia; 3 children and 3 grandchildren. A respected educator and coach with OHS for 41 years. RIP - Joan BahnsAug 2004

Magdalena "Lee" Chilikas, Born December 7, 1927, in Highland Park, Ill. Died in Fillmore, Calif. Raised in Winnetka, Ill. Graduated from University of Arizona with a BA then went on to graduate from Long Beach State University with a Master in Education. She taught physical education at Oxnard High School and later became an academic counselor. She remained there for 31 years. Lee is preceded in death by her parents and her sister. She is survived by her partner of 34 years, Jackie Bamman; her sister; and nephews & nieces. RIP - Chuck MorseOct 27, 2011
Charles Morse died, he was 85. After being discharge in 1946. He attended Grinnell College, majored in English and graduated in 1949. He taught freshman English at Oxnard High School for ten years. Elmont W. Michaelson was born the sixth son in St. Charles, Idaho on November 4, 1923. He passed away on June 21, 2008 in Oxnard......He is survived by his wife of 56 years, four children, twelve grandchildren and six great –grandchildren. Growing up in St. Charles, Mont graduated from Fielding High in Paris, Idaho in 1942 and entered the military. He served in WWII with the 71st Infantry Division- Europe and was involved in the liberation of the Gunskirchen Lager Concentration Camp. After the war he attended Utah State University and received his BA. In college he met Patricia Jackson and they were married in1952. Hired in 1953 as a teacher for Oxnard High School, Mont later worked asboys Vice Principle. During this time Mont attended USC and received his Masters in Education. In 1965 became Rio Mesa High's first principle. |
