Sept. 22, 1947, in Cookville, Tenn. He married Christine Aggas (OHS 65) in 1968. Received his master's from naval post-graduate school. He worked in computer security, as an architect, and at Novell for several years. He was commissioned in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and served during Vietnam and Desert
Storm. Survived by his wife and two sons. Burial took place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

January 30, 2014: Alfred (Big Al) Basua 66, Passed away and went on to be with the Lord at the Lous Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks. He was born to the late Cipriano And Eleanor Basua, July 18, 1947 in Los Angeles California. Al worked for Kaiser aluminum and APP for the last 47 years. He was a production supervisor and took great pride in his work. He was a man well respected not only at work but by all those who knew him. Al lived in Oxnard for most of his life. He played varsity his sophomore, junior, and senior year for both baseball and basketball. He graduated from Oxnard high school in 1965.
Al is survived by his wife of 47 years Joyce (Diane) Basua, Their two children, and grandchildren.

October 14, 2014: Carlos Michael Diaz, Jr. of Star, Idaho passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family after an 8-year fight with brain cancer. Carlos was born in Ventura. He was a true Southern California beach “bum” who had a passion for books, movies, music, sports and the USC Trojans. A couple years after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he earned the rank of sergeant and completed two tours in Vietnam. He then moved to Santa Barbara, where he graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Law and Society. Worked for Delco Electronics, which later became General Dynamics, where he ended his 30 year career as a configuration manager. Carlos was a very active individual who took health and fitness seriously. He was an avid golfer, softball player, and body surfer. During his long tenure of living in Santa Barbara he was well known in youth sports circles where he coached and refereed/umpired football and baseball for more than 20 years. After living in Santa Barbara for more than 30 years, he retired to Star, ID with his wife Vicki in 2005.

Feb. 3, 2012: Thomas Hivner, 65, died as the result of renal cancer. While in Oxnard High Tom was a trumpeter in the high school band and was privileged to march in the Rose Parade. As a teenager Tom built his own dragster and participated in Drag races. He enjoyed auto races of all kinds. Another favorite activity was attending the Reno Air Races whenever possible. After high school Tom enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served about two years in Germany, followed by 11 months in Viet Nam. He served as a helicopter mechanic with the rank of SP4. Following his military service Tom returned to Oxnard and worked mainly as a welder and mechanic. He was also involved in painting and sandblasting. Tom is survived by his mother, 2 sons, stepdaughter and grandchildren.

Sept 14, 2013: William Chester Hunter passed away on September 14, 2013. He attended schools in Oxnard, graduating from Oxnard High School in 1965 and later graduated from Ventura College. He worked at Camarillo State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician before starting to work as a police officer at Port Hueneme Police Department where he rose to the rank of Detective Sergeant. His law enforcement career ended in 1976 when he had surgery for removal of benign brain tumor.
Bill attended Ventura College of Law graduating in 1980. Moved to Los Banos, California, working as Deputy District Attorney for 18 years. He also taught business law at Merced College and worked for the office of the Merced County Counsel as a Deputy County Counsel. Bill retired in 2007. Bill was married to Alyce had two children. Bill was also the proud "Gramps" to one grandchild

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Macias Sr. and father Herbert Lowe. Linda leaves behind her son and daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind to mourn her mother, brother and 3 sisters.

County. He worked for All Phase Electric and was extremely happy to retire after 44 years and start spending more time with his grandkids. He enjoyed being with family and we always knew we could find him at Yolanda's or Cronies watching sports with friends, and there are too many to name. Our dad was an extremely gentle man and he cherished everyone in his life whether you were a stranger, family member, coworker or friend. Fred was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, brothers, two beautiful children and six grandchildren.

It is with sadness I share the passing of Emerson John Tucker. He suffered a brain aneurysm in August and has been in a care facility on life support and a feeding tube since then. Anyone knowing John knows he would never want to be in this condition. His daughter had him removed from life support, he was under hospice care and made comfortable until his passing.

June 1, 2013: William Richard (Dick) Laidlaw, 93, of Greensboro, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Saturday at the Moses Cone Medical Center after a brief illness. In 1953, Dick returned to the UC Berkeley where he completed a masters degree in Education. He then moved to Oxnard, California, where he taught civics and government to high school seniors and economics at Ventura College.

He graduated from William and Mary College and immediately enlisted in the Navy and served as an officer in the South Pacific for the duration of WW II. After completing his military service Bill earned a Master's Degree in Education from USC. He moved to Oxnard where he began his teaching career and raised eight children. After 35 years of teaching Bill and Mitch retired and moved to Arboles, Colo. Bill is survived by his wife,4 sons,4 daughters,16 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.

Served in WWII with the 71st Infantry Division in Europe and was involved in the liberation of the Gunskirchen Lager Concentration Camp. After the war he attended Utah State University and received his BA. Hired in 1953 as a teacher for Oxnard High School, Later worked as boys Vice Principle. June 2008: Passed away on June 21, 2008 in Oxnard. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, four children, twelve grandchildren and six great–grandchildren. Served in WWII with the 71st Infantry Division in Europe and was involved in the liberation of the Gunskirchen Lager Concentration Camp. After the war he attended Utah State University and received his BA. Hired in 1953 as a teacher for Oxnard High School, Later worked as boys Vice Principle. In 1965 became Rio Mesa High's first principle
